Roy Tan is a retired General Practitioner and former NUS lecturer with a passionate interest in archiving Singapore's LGBT history and culture. In 2005, he started all the Singapore LGBT-related articles on Wikipedia and has amassed a comprehensive collection of Singapore LGBT-themed videos on YouTube. In 2008, he delivered Singapore's first outdoor LGBT speech at Hong Lim Park and registered with the National Parks Board to hold Singapore's first gay pride parade there. This later morphed into Pink Dot. In 2010, he marched in Singapore's first gay Chingay "contingent" with fellow Singaporean, Tien Kim Chuan.
