I think it was sometime around 1985 that I realised my love for the retrovirus. I found myself consumed by their terrible beauty, their extraordinary pragmatism, unblinking cold cruelty and absolute devotion to efficient replication at the expense of others. HIV subsequently stole away two of my lovers. So, in retrospect, there was always a feeling of this third body in the bed. Their name was Deathwish.
